Do you live for rent and have you signed a contract? From Agenthia we want to tell you what rights you have as a tenant when accessing the house.

  • The right to live in a safe and well-maintained property. As a tenant you must have a home free of repairs and works and that is suitable to live from the first moment. If it is not, you can demand that the owner take measures in the form of repairs.
  • The right to be protected against unfair rent and unfair eviction. Although you should also know that as a tenant you have a legal obligation to pay the rent every month.
  • You have the right to have the deposit returned once the rental ends. If you do not have pending charges as payments, you have the right to obtain the total of the deposit deposited at the beginning of the signing of the contract.
  • Right to terminate the contract before the end of the rental period. You have the right to move to another place and be able to leave the contract without further ado. To exercise this right of withdrawal, several things must be fulfilled. The first is that at least six months have to pass from the signing of the contract. The second is the notification one month in advance. This applies to both long-term and short-term contracts.

These are the most basic rights that you should know as a tenant. Finally, indicate that like any legal agreement and contract signed between two parties, legal problems and setbacks can always arise.

In case of doubt, it is advisable to consult a team of experts. In that sense, at Agenthia we are here to accompany you in the process and facilitate all the procedures.
