Soundproofing a home means to gain in quality of life

Currently, many Spanish owners are considering to soundproof their homes to prevent neighbours from experiencing the noise they cause, like their steps, shocks of falling objects or the constant movement of furniture.

Ending with this noise is not so easy. Many old constructions have no isolation of any kind, so you would need a very high investment that not everyone wants to pay. In addition, it's true that noise can be easily reduced, but It's practically impossible to completely eliminate it.

In any case, here are some options to keep in mind in order to reduce the noise generated by your neighbours:

• If the noise comes from the outside we can install windows with a good coefficient of insulation or put coatings on the walls of the facade.

• If the problem comes from the adjacent buildings we can coat the intermediate partitions between floors. In this case, the neighbours will have to agree in performing the action, considering that they will also benefit.

• If the noise comes from the upper floor we can build a false ceiling, with an air chamber that can be filled with insulating materials.

• If the sound comes from the floor below we can isolate our floor by placing, for example, a dry solera that we can then coat with the material that interests us.

And you? How do you bring the noise of your neighbours?
