How to deal with the high price of light

  • Control how much power you contract.
  • Make smart use of appliances. Choose the programs that work at low temperatures, since when they consume more it's when they have to heat the water.
  • Disconnect the appliances you don't use. The silent consumption of the devices spends more energy than you think!
  • Bet on LED bulbs. They last much longer and achieve 100% of their performance from the moment you turn on them.
  • Benefit from the rate with time discrimination. This establishes two periods of consumption, each with its price: the peak hours and the valley hours. In these last ones is when you can save about 47% over the base rate.
  • Be careful with the refrigerator! It's the most consumable household appliance, especially if the door is open for too long. Open and close it as quickly as you can to avoid high consumption.
  • Do not abuse the air or heating. For each degree that goes from 20ºC, heating consumes between 5% and 7% more energy. In the case of air conditioning, each degree below 25% involves 8% more energy.
  • Iron when you have enough accumulated clothing instead of ironing out loose pieces on each occasion. Otherwise, you are multiplying the electricity consumption.

Follow these tips and you'll reduce your bill of light!
