How to achieve a higher energy efficency at home

1.jpg

Since 2013, it is mandatory that all properties for sale or rent, -except for historical and religious buildings, among others-, have the energy efficiency certificate in force. This document recognizes the energy characteristics of the home, premises or property; thus showing a range of consumption, and another related to the polluting CO2 emissions that it generates.

If you are thinking of selling, buying or renting, do not forget that the property is required to have the certificate valid.

That being said, how can we improve the energy rating of the home?

  • Choose a good heating system: make sure you use an economical type of energy, along with appliances that improve energy efficiency.
  • Switch to LED bulbs to reduce lighting consumption.
  • Choose energy-labeled appliances: These appliances tend to be more expensive, but remember, they are an investment that you will pay for!
  • Check your electricity rate: it is not impossible to find a rate with discounts and good maintenance services.
  • Renew windows and doors: consider switching to PVC windows, these optimize thermal insulation and thus avoid heat loss in winter and cold in summer.
